Palliative Care Basics

Palliative care is specialized medical care for people with a serious illness or chronic disease. Palliative care focuses on providing patients with relief and comfort, while maintaining the highest quality of life.

Palliative care can be given during treatment to cure or treat an illness, and can help provide patients with relief from symptoms and stress caused by their chronic condition. For example, palliative care can be very beneficial for someone going through chemotherapy. Our compassionate nurses  and medical staff can help with pain and side effect management, while our social worker can coordinate counseling services and access to available resources.

Palliative care is covered 100% by traditional Medicare (when qualifications are met), and may be offered for the following illness:

-Cancer, Heart disease, Lung disease, Liver disease, Kidney disease, Alzheimers, Dementia, ALS, Parkinson's, Huntington's
